Leadership Development for Emerging Leaders Certificate Program (100 hours – 10 CEUs)

The LAC recognizes the challenging role educational leaders play in the nonprofit field. Program leaders set the tone and direction for their program. They are responsible for ensuring that its activities are effective and appropriate. They must establish proper accountability to families and funding sources. Often, they must do all of this on their own, with minimal support and few opportunities to share ideas with their peers.

The Leadership Development for Emerging Leaders Certificate Program is designed for new and first-level program managers who have responsibility for the delivery of programs for adults and youth and want to achieve their full leadership potential. Selected managers work one-on-one with a leadership coach and participate in six skill-building workshops that are integrated with the coaching sessions.

This intensive program offers assistance in critical areas of leadership:

  • Providing sustained, stable, and effective leadership
  • Confronting educational and management issues while building and maintaining relationships with multiple constituencies
  • Establishing continuing, timely professional support opportunities
  • Developing action-oriented approach related to current management issues or challenges.
