H1H1 (Swine Flu), the World, and You by Thorton Maldonado

Thorton Maldonado, CAMBA, Biography: I have been teaching ESOL and GED for about thirteen years. I enjoy teaching because it allows me to help others while continuing to learn myself. I currently work at CAMBA in Brooklyn.

Reflection on the Lesson: My GED students are mostly ESOL learners who are primarily from Haitian background. This lesson went well with them because it covered many of the skill sets they will need in order to take the GED test. This lesson covers a broad range of disciplines and skill sets including geography, analyzing political cartoons and writing. I wrote this lesson with the intention that it can be adjusted for lower and higher level GED classrooms. I hope you enjoy using this lesson with your students.
