Objectives

1. You will create framework for articulating employment goals.

2. You will develop an understanding of and familiarity with webquests and establish criteria for using them in the classroom.

3. You will develop a model lesson for using web-based employment resources in the classroom. .

Introductions

Introduce yourselves and discuss your interest in this workshop.

 

9:45-10:45
Beginning a job hunt

With a partner, you will assess your own skills and interests and begin a job search.
After completing the job search, partners will discuss the process and make a presentation to the group.

 

10:45-11:30
Webquest exploration and evaluation

With a partner, you will explore and evaluate webquests, answer questions about using webquests in the classroom, and present your findings to the group.

 

11:30-12:30
Developing a lesson with web-based employment resources

With a partner, you will explore some employment sites and develop a lesson around these sites. Partners will present their ideas to the whole group.
