The SPELL Program runs two semesters a year (Fall and Spring). There are no summer classes or summer Case Manager hours between June - August.&nbsp;<br /><br />All classes and case management take place onsite at Hunter College, unless prearranged with students via online platform.<br /><br />The schedule for this position is Saturdays from 9:00am - 4:00pm.&nbsp; There is some flexibility with the schedule and possibility of staggering in-person attendance. Building on its 125+year legacy of innovation and effective programming, Henry Street offers more than 50 programs and is one of New York City&rsquo;s largest social service agencies.<br /><br />Program Overview:<br />Henry Street Settlement&rsquo;s Education and Employment Division has programs to help individuals obtain the skills for lifelong economic self-sufficiency. The ABE/HSE Program helps more than 115 adult learners each year to prepare to take the GED exam. We currently provide three levels of instruction in each of the test&rsquo;s five subject areas (Social Studies, Science, Reading, Writing and Math) for those with reading grade levels ranging from 4th through 12th. Each learner comes to the program with their own educational experiences and goals. They range in age from 18 to 60+, live across the five boroughs and include both native English speakers and English language learners.
