The Office of Workforce Development and Innovation at the College of Staten Island is seeking an experienced and engaging Part-Time Healthcare Instructor to deliver hybrid evening classes in Clinical Certified Medical Assisting. The role involves teaching both theory and hands-on skills using a pre-approved curriculum to address critical workforce needs.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver a relevant and industry-standard curriculum that prepares learners to pass the NHA’s CCMA certification exam as well as secure sustainable employment.
- Effectively blend traditional classroom techniques with online learning tools to ensure a diverse group of adult learners are engaged and successful.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed, including engaging in outreach and community events to drive program enrollment, as well as managing the inventory of program materials and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Active CCMA certification from a respected credentialing body, with a solid professional reputation.
- Demonstrated success in healthcare training and instruction, with a passion for educating others.
- Expert knowledge of medical assisting theory, industry best practices, and emerging employment trends.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support a diverse group of adult learners.
- Tech-savvy, proficient in Microsoft 365 and experienced with CRM platforms used by CUNY and Office.
- Highly organized, reliable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
