Career Counselor (F/T)

POSITION: Career Counselor - RBSCC Community Empowerment Center SALARY: Mid-30’s annually (Full Time) 

JOB SUMMARY: The Career Counselor is responsible for providing participant assessment, career plan development and implementation, ongoing support, and engagement through all phases of the program. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct initial assessments, provide ongoing engagement/support, and ensure positive outcomes for a case load of approximately 25-40 participants. Assist program participants with career plans, résumé and cover letter writing, and job search. Verify participant eligibility, collect data, and provide documentation as required. Facilitate Career Development Workshops, soft skills seminars, educational classes and hard skills trainings 

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires experience working in a career development or social service agency, ideally in a counseling/mentoring position. The Career Counselor should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years’ experience working in non-profit organizations.

Employment Specialist (F/T)

POSITION: Employment Specialsit– RBSCC HomeBase EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time Position, 35 hours per week SALARY: $38K – $40k annually 

Job Summary and Qualifications: The Employment Specialist is responsible for assisting HomeBase clients with activities that will increase their income, with the goal of avoiding homelessness. 

Requirements: Experience working in a career development or social service agency. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years’ experience working in the workforce development field. Familiarity with the NYC workforce development system is preferred. 

Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct initial assessments, provide ongoing engagement/support, and ensure positive outcomes for a large case load. Develop relationships with multiple employers, training providers, and/or other community resources. Assist clients with résumé and cover letter writing, online job applications, and job search plans. Research job opportunities in NYC and refer clients to hiring events and/or interviews.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Future Now Program at Bronx Community College provides learning opportunities to enrich the academic, social and professional development of youth and young adults. We are seeking a P/T HSE Instructor from 3pm -6pm, Monday-Thursdays. 

Position Description:
The Instructor will facilitate instruction in all subject areas of the TASC exam. 

CORE COMPETENCIES
B.A / B.S is required in Education or related field. Computer proficiency, strong communication skills, and experience working with youth; ability to respond effectively to feedback and adjust teaching strategies and materials and to respond to student's needs, ability to utilize work and life experiences to enrich program content; ability to deliver instruction effectively both orally and in writing; ability to utilize web-based technology for enhancing curriculum; ability to work in a team; ability to reports problems on a timely basis and to keep a professional demeanor at all times.

Vocational/Career Development Instructor F/T

Position: Vocational Instructor/ Career Development Instructor 
The instructor will provide a career readiness program to our adult job seekers and will work closely with the workforce team to ensure appropriate referrals to employment opportunities. 
Instructor will develop and maintain curricula and lesson plans for workshops to program participants in resume writing, job search, interviewing skills, life skills, and career advancement. Each participant will develop a career plan while attending the two week series of classes. 
Additionally the instructor will maintain record and files on program participants and their program attendance using ETO Social Solutions, Salesforce and other databases. Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Preferred, Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access & Outlook), and database management

Math Specialist (F/T)

The Pre-College Academic Programming Department (www.laguardia.edu/pcap) is seeking a full-time Math Specialist to design and deliver comprehensive high school equivalency, college readiness and first year math curricula. 


PCAP’s mission is to support low income adults and out-of-school youth as they apply to college, matriculate and persist through their first year at LaGuardia Community College. 


Reporting to the Director and working closely with the Pre-College Academic Programming (PCAP) managerial team and staff, the math specialist will teach pre-college and first year college math students, develop innovative and interactive contextualized curricula, design authentic assessments, monitor student progress, and provide professional development for best practices in mathematics instruction. The 


Math Specialist works with PCAP and college-wide staff to plan and implement quality mathematics instruction, as well as interventions for students in need of support.
