Job Description: The IT Instructor establish the framework of positive youth development and career pathways and positive guidance to participants for the OST program. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- IT Instructor will teach Microsoft's Office software suite to Youth Training Network participants. Which will include word processing, data entry, and the creation of spreadsheets and presentations.
- Provide MOS certification to Youth Training Network participants after 4-5 week sector based training, research and define career goals, objectives and methodologies to meet program goals
- Assist with developing an Individual Service Strategy(ISS) and developing career-related goals collaboratively with participants based on motivational interviewing process
- Provide positive guidance, discipline, mentoring and role modeling to youth served
- Support and work with program participants in career pathways
- Provide supportive services, recommend interventions when appropriate and make educational referrals to other services when needed
- Assist coordination of workshops to be offered to program participants
- Handle data entry responsibilities, including outcomes reporting
- Participate in regularly scheduled supervision and ongoing training
- Provide weekly reports to Program Director
- Perform other duties as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Experience teaching all levels of Office 2007/2010/2013 and 2016 classes• Word• Excel• Power Point• Access• Visio• Project• SharePoint End User Training•
- Microsoft Office Specialist certification is preferred• 3-5 years of Microsoft Office end-user training experience in an organizational or enterprise environment
- Relevant industry experience, including training in a group settings and supporting computer applications, or a combination of training, education and experience which provides similar knowledge, abilities and skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in curriculum planning, development and Writing
