The work schedule for the hired supervisor is 9 am to 5 pm (Tuesday & Thursday) and 12:30 to 8:30 pm (Monday, Wednesday, & Friday). It is required that candidates have at least a BA/BS in education or a related field and at least 2 years of applicable supervisory experience in the field of adult literacy; MA/MS preferred. Candidates must have experience with adult literacy student outreach, intake, assessment (using BEST Plus, BEST Literacy, and TABE), class placement, and case management. Applicants with strong/advanced abilities in using Microsoft products (such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams), Zoom, Acrobat, and Google products, who are self-starters, passionate about helping youth and adults solve personal and family problems, committed to helping with the continuous enhancement of New York City communities, and who are highly organized are preferred. CAMBA needs an ESOL instructor to teach part-time at its Education Center and deliver instruction online (via Zoom) until in-person classes can restart at 955 Flatbush Avenue – Brooklyn, N.Y. The class will meet in the evening from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, Monday through Friday. It is required that candidates have at least a BA/BS in education or a related field and at least 2 years of experience as an ESOL instructor; MA/MS preferred. Candidates must have experience teaching online (especially on Zoom) and must be familiar with internet resources of relevance to English learners and be able to integrate technology and workplace skills into classroom instruction. CAMBA seeks a part-time Instructor supporting adults who are seeking their High School Equivalency diploma through the National External Diploma Program (NEDP). The candidate will: tutor adults in math, reading and writing, research and develop instructional materials, conduct NEDP information sessions, proctor program entrance exams, advise and assess participants as they progress through the NEDP, and evaluate subject areas according to program criteria. This position is part-time, 24 hours weekly to be worked between Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Specific schedule is negotiable and will be discussed and agreed upon prior to hire. B.A/B.S. preferred. Ability to tutor adult learners in Math and Writing is required. Must be comfortable tutoring via Zoom and be willing to work both remotely and in-person from our office in Staten Island when needed.
