Literacy Volunteers at Family Centers is seeking an ESL teacher to work with advanced Adult ESL students who are focused on improving their English and eager to transition into employment in the USA. The course focuses on and utilizes their educational training and transferrable skills. The curriculum provides students with many opportunities to practice their English by engaging them in reading, writing, speaking and listening activities focused on self-exploration of interests and skills, research of careers and educational opportunities, better understanding of the US workplace culture, along with preparation of resumes and interview practice.
Classes meet Wednesday and Thursday evenings in Stamford, 2 hours per evening and runs two semesters: October – January and February – June.
This is a paid position and requires a Connecticut Endorsement in Teaching English (088) and experience preferred.
