NYC COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY
The Adult Learning Center (ALC) provides English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Basic Education (BE) and High School Equivalency (GED) preparation to adult learners in downtown Brooklyn and offsite locations.

Reporting to the Director and Assistant Director of Education Programs, the Data Manager is responsible for managing the Adult Student Information System and Technical Support database (ASISTS), which is used by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to monitor and evaluate grant funded adult education programs. The Data Manager provides administrative and instructional support necessary to the effective operation of the ALC. 

Responsibilities:
  • Competently utilize the program’s ASISTS enrollment management system, ensuring timely entering and managing of data that properly aligns with reporting needs
  • Prepare attendance reports and general enrollment information for data analysis
  • Follow-up with program participants to secure critical information, including outcomes data
  • Coordinate, conduct and assist with in-person intake, registration, testing, placement, and related enrollment tasks
  • Liaise with and provide administrative assistance to instructors and staff
  • Collaborate on the development of flyers, forms, surveys, and spreadsheets
  • Complete 14 hours of Regional Adult Education Network (RAEN) approved trainings and workshops annually
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred
  • Competent in the use of technology and MS Office applications
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in working with personal and confidential records, including adhering to FERPA and other policies
  • Teaching or data management experience, or a general understanding of Adult Education and a genuine desire to work with the adult literacy community
  • Familiarity with social media to help promote program class offerings and services
  • Well organized, able to prioritize, think critically, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible, creative, resourceful, and work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work some evening hours on a consistent basis
Pay Range:
$49,000 - $53,000

BMCC Adult Literacy Program seeks a full-time Data Manager 
The Adult Basic Education Program of the Borough of Manhattan Community College Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development is seeking a Data Manager to oversee data collection, documentation, and reporting for grant funded programs. 

Core Responsibilities
  • Oversee data entry and management for multiple WIOA and City Council funded programs
  • Set up program information in ASISTS for the fiscal year (ie PIF)
  • Set up program information in NYC RISE for the fiscal year. 
  • Generate ASISTS and NYC RISE Reports to evaluate program performance
  • Identify shortfalls and share it with those involved to have corrective actions
  • Complete Employment Survey for students who exited program
  • Review program reports for accuracy with data admins and/or Director
  • Enter/manage student outcomes 
  • Monitor program data and provide director with regular updates regarding data concerns
  • Manage data both in ASISTS and through use of internal spreadsheets and other relevant documents
  • Oversee maintenance of all required documentation and paperwork related to program data
  • Coordinate and work with case management, office, and teaching staff to ensure compliance with data requirements
  • Attend RAEN training as required by program funding
  • Assist with other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with ASISTS preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other relevant programs
  • Ability to analyze data and problem solve; comfortable using spreadsheets and other data management and analysis systems
  • Ability to write data reports and create management systems and forms as needed to support the program
  • Detail oriented and precise
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
Salary Range
$50,000 - 60,000
