Brooklyn Public Library's Adult Learning Department is seeking qualified candidates for the following part time opportunities:
The Program Associate is a grant-funded position within Brooklyn Public Library’s Literacy Program department. The Program Associate will work under the supervision of the Young Adult Literacy Program Coordinator and perform general administrative support for the Young Adult Literacy Program (YALP).
The program seeks someone with a dynamic personality, with extraordinary people skills and a creative eye; as the position will require overseeing YALP’s social media and web page presence, participating in outreach events and partnering with YALP Coordinator to shore up professional community partnerships.

The Adult Learning Centers (ALCs) at are the direct service providers of ESOL and adult literacy instruction for the New York Public Library. We use professional teachers to offer free instruction to adult patrons in reading, writing, speaking and listening from a 0 to 8th grade level. Through formal classes in language and literacy, as well as elective offerings such as English conversation and citizenship preparation groups, ALCs have taken on the charge to expand ESOL instruction in the Library.
The Intake Advisors’ primary functions are to recruit new students, determine their eligibility through testing and interview, to place students in a class, to monitor attendance, and retain students in the program. Additionally, Intake Advisors follow up with students who have attendance problems to identify barriers for participation and encourage continuation in the program. They are responsible for entering and maintaining program data and communicating results to the Hub Manager.

Evening Part-time Data Entry/Lab Specialist Needed
CAMBA, Inc. seeks a part-time case manager/data entry specialist to work at its Education Center (885 Flatbush Avenue – Brooklyn, N.Y.) The work schedule is 5:30 to 8:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent. Those with a B.A/B.S. in computer science or a related field, BEST Plus testing, and TABE testing are preferred. Candidates must have worked in the field of adult education for at least 2 years and must have experience working with low income and/or ethnically diverse populations. For this position, High proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, internet, and database software, excellent communication and organization skills are needed. Applicants who have strong computer skills, are self-starters, are highly organized, and are willing to attend professional development training on site or off site are preferred.
