Union/Program: 1199SEIU Training & Employment Funds
Job Title: Part-Time Spanish Instructor 
Rate: $67/hour 
Site: Remote Teaching using Zoom

Day(s) of Week and Time: Various days and times available, including:
  • Monday/Wednesday: 6:00 PM–8:30 PM
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 6:00 PM–8:30 PM
  • Fridays: 6:00 PM–8:30 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:30 AM–12:00 PM

Position Objective:
The 1199SEIU Training & Employment Funds is looking for effective, creative, and dynamic 
teachers with experience in teaching in-person or remotely using Zoom. This part-time position 
is to teach a class designed to help students acquire Spanish language skills including jobspecific language for healthcare professionals. Interactive activities in this class include basic 
activities in the four language skill areas, vocabulary development, small group work, roleplaying, songs, and more. If teaching remotely, online materials and access to a Zoom account 
are provided. 

Essential Functions:
  • Creates a supportive and stimulating class environment conducive to learning.
  • Prepares lessons identifying clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Adapts teaching materials.
  • Assesses students’ needs and progress.
  • Attends teachers’ meetings and staff development sessions. 
  • Ensures accuracy and timely submission of attendance sheets.
  • Ensures accuracy and timely submission of students’ end-of-class session recommendations 
  • and progress.
  • Provides basic information to students on our organization’s offerings.
  • Provides feedback on the program to administrators.

Requirements: Degree or training in Spanish/foreign language instruction highly preferred. 
Experience in Spanish teaching is required. Knowledge or experience working in the healthcare 
industry is a plus. Please enclose sample of a lesson plan used in a previous class.

  • Monday/Wednesday: 5:30 PM–8:30 PM
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 5:30 PM–8:30 PM
  • Fridays: 6:00 PM–8:30 PM
  • Tuesdays: 9:30 AM–12:30 PM
  • Wednesdays: 9:30 AM–12:30 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:30 AM–1:00 PM

required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the 
educational requirement.
