Turning Point Brooklyn is hiring an ABE/HSE teacher for 2 or 4 evenings per week (TBD) for one or two classes that meet from 6-9pm. The teacher would be expected to be on site from 4pm until the end of class on the days s/he is teaching. Some off site prep hours are possible.
Classes focus on reading and writing skills, as well as specific content that will be on the new HSE test. The classes each project to have 15-20 students, who are mostly youth (16-24 y/o) but include many adults. Teachers at the Education Center must be fluent in learner-centered, participatory lessons and a project-based approach.
