Turning Point is hiring a part-time ESOL teacher. The class that meets 3 evenings per week (6pm-8pm), for a total of 10 work hours per week (class + flexible prep time). Staff are expected to be on-site between at least 5:30pm and 8:15pm, to conference with colleagues and students. Expected start date is early April.
The class is located at a local elementary school; flexibility, aptitude for working with multiple partners, and excellent communication skills are required. Teachers are responsible for a class of 15-20 students and must be comfortable with learner-centered, participatory lessons and a project-based approach. While the Education Center has an overall set of class standards, teachers are responsible for creating her/his own curriculum and lesson plans.
