About AMPHS
Academy of Medical & Public Health Services (AMPHS) is a community public health organization that aims to empower immigrants, their families, and their communities to improve their health and quality of life. We achieve this through taking a human-centered approach across the social determinants of health and wellbeing while breaking down the systemic barriers to equitable care and access for our communities.
Equally important to promoting disease prevention are our services tackling social determinants of health and barriers to care. AMPHS provides integrated interventions in three program areas: community health response, social services, and community education. AMPHS’ Adult Literacy Program focuses on providing English language instruction to adults 16 years of age and over. In addition to developing grammar, speaking, reading and writing skills, we enrich student education through experiential learning such as field trips, special events, conversation groups, and workshops.
