ESOL Instructors Needed
CAMBA needs a morning (9 am to 12 noon, M-F) and an evening (5:30 to 8:30 pm, M-F) ESOL instructor to teach part-time and in person only at its Education Center, located at 955 Flatbush Avenue – Brooklyn, N.Y. The salary is $27.20 per hour for up to 30 hours biweekly.
It is required that candidates have at least a BA/BS in education or a related field and at least 2 years of experience as an ESOL instructor; MA/MS preferred. Candidates must be familiar with internet resources of relevance to English learners and be able to integrate technology and workplace skills into classroom instruction. Applicants with experience in computer-assisted instruction, who are self-starters, and highly organized are preferred.
In addition to a job interview, applicants being considered for a position will be expected to do an hour-long demonstration by teaching a class of about 15 multi-ethnic adult students – covering an ESOL theme of their choice. Also, applicants will need to submit the name and contact information of 3 current or former job supervisors we can contact for reference purposes. CAMBA does not accept references from colleagues, friends, or family members.
