The Borough of Manhattan Community College Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development (BMCC) is seeking a creative and energetic ESOL Instructor for its grant funded Integrated English Language and Civics Education (IELCE) program. IELCE is an innovative program that combines English language acquisition with high demand technology workforce training. Students are concurrently enrolled in technology training and ESOL classes that directly support the language demands of that training. The ESOL instructor must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of technology including Microsoft Excel, Office and PowerPoint as well as a record of effective contextualized instruction in the ESOL classroom. Experience adapting and implementing I-BEST-model programs would be particularly relevant as would problem-based-learning models for English Language Learners. The Instructor will also assist with intake and assessment of program applicants and submit required data into ASISTS.
Part time Instructor positions are available for either morning or evening classes. Or these positions could be combined for a fulltime salaried position.
Part time rate is $40 an hour
