ESOL Instructor P/T

The Bronx Community College Adult Education and Training Program has the following positions available with the start date of  1/13/20.

1. ALE Level 2 ESL Mon/Tues/Wed  9:30 to 12:30
2. IELCE Mon and Wed 6 – 9 pm  Teach contextualized ESL to advanced students who will be attending two additional evenings preparing for IC3 certification (computer literacy credential)​
   

Responsibilities include: 

• Customize instruction to create a high quality English curriculum/lesson plans for adults
• Create a student-centered, engaging learning environment 
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Administer and monitor student testing, including : maintain attendance records and communicate with administrative staff and counselors regarding student absences and other issues
• Integrate CUNY Career Kits
• Complete 14 hours of professional development through Regional Adult Education Network (RAEN) offerings 

Qualifications: 

• BA or BS in education or related field, MA  TESOL  preferred
• Minimum two years related teaching experience, preferably in grant-funded literacy program
• Experience creating thematic, content-based curricula Best Plus certified preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral communication skills  

Hourly teaching rate starts at $36 per hour
