ESOL Instructor P/T

The Virtual Senior Center program enables homebound senior adults to attend online classes led by a Facilitator. The program enables homebound seniors to socialize, attend classes that inform or entertain and that connects them to the greater community via a touch screen computer that we provide.
 
We are currently looking for an ESL teacher to lead virtual ESL class for our Chinese speaking homebound seniors. 

Job Description

• Facilitate an interactive 45-60 minute class for vital, homebound seniors that engage them in a meaningful way right from your home or office computer.   
• Lead ESL class for Chinese homebound seniors.
• 1 hour per week. Flexible scheduling.

Currently classes accommodate up to 20 participants with more able to “audit” which allows for meaningful interaction. 

Knowledge, Skills And Requirements
​Qualification

• Ability and interest in facilitating an interactive virtual class that will have a positive impact on the life of the home-bound participants
• Friendly, sensitive and enjoys relating to seniors
• Possess basic computer technology ability
• Bilingual in Mandarin

Technology Needs 

• Computer with high-speed internet & webcam along with speakers
• We provide you with the internet URL address and username/password
• Minimum of 2GB of memory (RAM) - most computers have this minimum requirement
