The ABS department is seeking dynamic, hard working educators with experience teaching diverse adult, non-traditional populations at a variety of ABE and HSE levels, including preparation for the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC). The instructor will adapt student-centered and contextualized curricula designed to help adult students develop their reading, writing, math, and critical thinking skills. Course work will include the incorporation of technology, materials for differentiating instruction, and informal needs assessments, as needed.
Part-time evening and/or day positions available starting January 2015, averaging 9 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts/Science degree, plus at least three (3) years adult education or non-traditional teaching experience, along with relevant adult education professional development required.
Experience in delivering quality mathematics instruction, as well as reading/writing in HSE-related disciplines (social studies, science, etc.) is also required.
