The Door is seeking a part-time HSE instructor to teach a HSE class for students, ages 17-24 years old, which are nearing test ready. The goal of the class is to prepare students to take the HSE and score the highest score on the exam so that they will be prepared to enter college, advanced skills training workshops and/or employment.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate all instructional aspects of HSE class
Collaborate with the instructional team to respond to the instructional needs of the individual students, to plan lessons, projects and student exhibitions
Maintain a classroom environment that is stimulating, supports individual and group learning and is rigorous and nurturing
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required, Master’s preferred
Minimum of two years experience teaching HSE classes
Previous experience in youth development
Experience in curriculum design and implementation
Demonstrated ability to motivate and challenge students to achieve a high level of performance through intensive academic performance
Hours: Monday-Thursday mornings, 15 hours per week (This temporary position will end three months from start date)
Salary: $30.00 per hour
