Location: Brooklyn College 2900 Bedford Ave
Status/Hours: Part Time, 3 days a week, 9-12pm, 9/5/23-12/15/23
Salary Range: $39.50/hr
Brooklyn College Adult Literacy Program provides free ESOL, High School Equivalency (HSE/GED) preparation and pre-HSE/GED services. Students enter the program with a variety of goals, from learning English to earning the credentials necessary for access to gainful employment or higher education.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of GED preparation programs
- Instruction of beginner Pre-HSE GED preparation classes
- Pre-testing and post-testing using TABE
- Attend biweekly staff meetings
- Tracks student attendance
- Optimizes learning outcomes (observes classes, collects student feedback, monitors test scores, and takes steps to improve learning outcomes)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Three or more years teaching experience in an adult education setting
- Strong computer skills, proficient in G suites
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be resourceful
- Ability to be communicative and flexible
