We are looking for Instructors who are passionate about making a difference in the community by supporting adults to their fullest potential through educational programs. The Instructor is responsible for creating an ideal learning environment that fosters and supports student success. Instructors will develop curricula using different modalities with interactive individual and small group learning activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing high-quality instruction to adults through various RaisingHealth programming including English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL), Adult Literacy, and/or Mental Health First Aid curricula employing research-based instructional strategies and best practices including differentiated instruction (group and individualized).
- Implementing and expanding literacy and RaisingHealth resources and materials while incorporating participants’ relevant interests. Integrates the career awareness and workforce readiness curricula into instruction.
- Assessing learning, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to adult students to assist them to meet the instructional goals and expectations of the program/grant.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 graduate credits in TESOL and/or two years of ESOL teaching experience. Master’s degree in education or related field preferred.
- Knowledgeable and capable of facilitating curricula using adult learning principles and techniques.
- Understands the intricacies of working with a diverse range of people of varied socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Language - Bi-lingual language skills are highly preferred, but not required. Candidates with bilingual language skills in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and/or Arabic will receive be considered first.
- Computer literacy, including basic data entry required. Excellent command of MS Office Suite especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday from 10am – 6pm.
Starting Hourly Rate:
$30-33/hour
Salary
$30 - $34 per hour
