Learning Strategist F/T
The Door, one of NYC's premier youth development organizations, is hiring a Learning Strategist (teacher) on the College Paths team in the Career and Education Department. All candidates should be passionate about positive youth development, flexible, creative and organized. We actively seek candidates who come from backgrounds similar to those of our students: low-income, first-generation college students of color.
Provide small group and individual instruction to high school/HSE students to help them pass Regents exams, the SAT, TASC and college placement exams at a college-ready level. Train and coach tutors and interns to do the same to extend your impact.
The ideal candidate is a teacher who knows high school math content very well but can teach other subjects, enjoys making test prep fun and engaging, and stays organized and energetic in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
