ESOL Instructor P/T

Hot Bread Kitchen seeks a part-time temporary ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) instructor for our New New Yorkers program.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess language levels and assist with evaluating member’s eligibility for the program
• Using established curricula and lesson plans, provide contextualized instruction to approximately 20-25 students
• Provide support to supplement NYC Food Protection course
• Document attendance and progress
• Attend weekly meetings with program staff to review progress and participation
• Provide one-on-one support as needed
• Use allotted administrative hours to prepare for classes

Skills & Experience:

• Passion for Hot Bread Kitchen’s mission
• TESOL certification
• Minimum 3 years teaching ESOL to adult multilingual learners 
• Spanish-speaking and/or French-speaking proficiency required and fluency preferred

Schedule and Compensation:

• Compensation: $45-55/ hour
• Approx. 100 Hours total: 75 teaching hours and 25 administrative hours
• Program calendar:
• April 16-May 24, 2024 
• Monday-Friday 1:15-4:15pm
• Location: City Harvest, Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY
