Brooklyn Public Library’s Adult Learning Department seeks to hire a F/T YALP Instructor to provide dynamic and engaging academic instruction to a young adult aged cohort in East New York, Brooklyn.
The Instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering thematic units of study reflective of evidence-based literacy/numeracy instructional approaches, aligned with NYS CCSS standards. Effective instruction contributes to the successful transition of the YALP cohorts to HSE test prep programs.
The YALP Instructor will be responsible for developing and managing service learning projects with their assigned cohort. The F/T YALP Instructor will function as part of an administrative and educational team, and will be expected to participate in collaborative facilitation and conferencing with other members of the team.
The Instructor will work with other citywide YALP program staff, networks and community-based organizations to improve BPL collaborations around programming and transitions to create easily accessed resources and referral systems for our young adult learners. This position reports to the YALP Coordinator.
